Abstract

The ready-made garment (RMG) sector is fundamental to Bangladesh's economy. In a progressively competitive global market, RMG enterprises under continual pressure to improve efficiency, minimize operational costs and adhere to rigorous quality and compliance standards. This study seeks to investigate the correlation between operational efficiency and the effective incorporation of technology in the RMG production process in Dhaka, Bangladesh. This study examines the effects of technology adoption and the application of particular technical processes on employee performance and operational efficiency in Bangladesh's ready-made garment industry. The study examines how focused strategies mitigate issues associated with lead time, pricing pressures and swiftly changing market expectations. The research utilized quantitative techniques and survey data to deliver an extensive analysis. Data was collected via a structured survey conducted at 20 factories in Dhaka, Bangladesh. The data highlights performance metrics including sales growth, revenue, procurement durations and delivery timeframes prior to and following the use of technology. The poll employed a 5-point Likert scale to collect comments from operational-level managers and employees, assessing the efficacy of various technologies in improving performance and employee engagement. The findings indicated that the integration of technology was favorably associated with enhanced performance metrics and heightened employee engagement. This indicates that the intentional amalgamation of technologies can markedly improve operational efficiency and adaptability. The study provides significant insights for stakeholders in the RMG industry seeking to enhance competitiveness in the global clothing market.
